Here at Barn Owls, all children are supported in developing their potential at their own pace. Our key person system enables us to ensure a planned curriculum tailored to the needs of each individual child through the use of developmentally appropriate play activities as outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum 2021.
Facilities
Barn Owls Nursery is situated on the site of Shifnal Primary School. We can be found to the right of the main school building. We have a large Nursery School room, a smaller room for our 2 year olds and rising 3’s (Toddlers), a dining room and sensory room. Both classrooms are bright and cheerful and full of exciting opportunities where all resources are easily accessible and age appropriate.
Nursery school has direct access to an enclosed garden with tarmacked area for large wheeled toys, an artificial grassed area for slides, ball play, outdoor role play etc and an amazing forest school. Toddlers have their own fully equipped garden but they also have full use of the outdoor space.
Sessions
Funding
Funded places are available to children the term after they are three years old. These places can be flexible and be taken in more than one setting. We also offer the Extended Nursery Education 30 hours funding for eligible parents.
We also offer 24U funded places to 2 year old children who meet the criteria.

Lunchtime
Lunchtime runs from 11:30am – 12:30pm.
The children are either required to bring their own lunch with a drink or they may have a school meal at the cost of £2.60. Menus are available in the classrooms to view.
School Milk
All children are provided with free school milk under the government scheme.
Healthy Snacks
Fruit is provided daily for each child at Barn Owls.
